Your Matric Farewell Portrait Session
Matric Farewell photographs don’t have to be a hurried five minutes on the driveway before somebody announces that you’re already late.
These are dedicated pre-farewell portrait sessions, photographed before you leave for the event. We can shoot in my private Randpark Ridge studio, at an agreed Johannesburg location, or combine the two where the package allows.
We’ll create proper individual portraits first, then bring in your partner, family or friends depending on the session you choose. If there’s a special car involved, we’ll make rather more of it than simply parking it somewhere in the background.
You don’t need to know how to pose. I’ll guide you throughout, which leaves you with the considerably easier job of enjoying the occasion.
It Doesn’t Have to Look Like Everybody Else’s Matric Photographs
Studio portraits, something darker and more editorial, a favourite car, your partner or the friends you’ve survived school with. The session can be shaped around you rather than a fixed formula.
Come Away With a Collection, Not Just the Obligatory Couple Shot
Of course we’ll photograph you together. But a good Matric Farewell session should give you much more than one photograph destined for the mantelpiece.
Depending on the package, we’ll create a mixture of individual portraits, photographs with your partner, family portraits and relaxed photographs with friends. That gives you variety without turning the session into an assembly line.

There Is No Single Way This Has to Look
Formal or relaxed. Studio or location. Just the two of you or surrounded by friends. We’ll create photographs that suit the people in front of the camera rather than forcing everyone through the same poses.
Because It Isn’t Only a Big Evening for Them
Somewhere between finding the outfit, arranging the transport and trying to get everybody out of the house on time, it’s easy to forget that a Matric Farewell is a family milestone too.
That’s why the larger sessions make room for parents and family. It doesn’t need to become a separate family photoshoot. We simply make sure that while everybody is dressed up and actually in the same place, we create a few photographs you’ll be very glad you have later.
Relax. I’ll Tell You What to Do.
I’ve been photographing people for more than 17 years, and very few arrive knowing exactly what to do in front of a camera. You don’t need to practise poses or spend the week wondering what to do with your hands. That’s my job.
I’ll guide you through the session, adjust the small things that make a photograph work and give you enough direction without making everything feel staged. The aim is to create polished photographs that still look like you.
My private photography studio is in Randpark Ridge, Johannesburg, with location sessions available across Johannesburg.
