Your Wedding Will Go Faster Than You Think
Months of planning somehow become a few hours of people, laughter, nerves, hugs, speeches and moments you didn’t even realise were happening. My job is to make sure you get to keep them.
The Whole Story
Not Just the Photographs Everyone Knows Are Coming
Of course we’ll photograph the dress, the rings, the ceremony and the portraits. But a wedding is also made up of everything happening between those things.
Someone trying to get a tie straight. Your bridesmaids making you laugh when you’re supposed to be getting ready. A look across the ceremony that lasts about two seconds. Your father seeing you dressed for the first time. Someone doing something gloriously ridiculous at the reception.
Those photographs often become the ones that take you straight back to the day.
Before the Ceremony
The Wedding Has Already Started
Long before anyone walks down an aisle, there is already a story unfolding. Dresses are hanging up, makeup is being finished, people are arriving, nerves are beginning to appear and somebody is usually looking for something they were absolutely certain they packed.
I photograph this part of the day quietly and naturally. There is direction when it helps, but I don’t want your wedding morning turned into a photography production. You should still be able to enjoy it.

Meanwhile
There Are Two Sides to the Morning
While one room is full of dresses, makeup and last-minute adjustments, somewhere else ties are being straightened, jackets are being buttoned and the groom is discovering that getting ready apparently requires considerably more assistance than expected.
Photographing both sides gives the finished story context. You get to see the parts of the morning you weren’t there for.

The Details
You Chose Them for a Reason
The rings, flowers, dress, table settings and dozens of small decisions can take months to put together. On the wedding day they become part of the background remarkably quickly.
I make time for them because they are part of the story too. Years later, these photographs bring back details you may otherwise have completely forgotten.

The Ceremony
This Is the Part You Don’t Get to Repeat
During the ceremony I am looking for more than the obvious photograph. I am watching expressions, reactions, hands, glances and the people around you.
The aim is to photograph what happened without becoming part of what happened. You should remember your ceremony, not the photographer orbiting you like a small, overenthusiastic moon.

Just the Two of You
Good Wedding Portraits Should Still Feel Like You
You don’t need to know how to pose. In fact, most couples have never spent an afternoon practising what to do with their hands in front of a professional photographer, which is probably a healthy sign.
I’ll guide you when you need it, find the light, choose the setting and give you enough direction to make the photographs work without making the two of you look as though you’ve been carefully arranged by a committee.

And Then There Is Everything Else
Weddings Aren’t Supposed to Be Serious All Day
Some photographs are beautiful because everything is perfect. Others are wonderful because nobody was trying to make a photograph at all.
I want both. The portraits you will frame and the moments that make you laugh ten years from now belong in the same wedding story.

More From the Wedding Day
A Few More Photographs
Weddings rarely behave like a shot list. There are quiet moments, carefully planned portraits and the occasional piece of cheerful chaos. All of them have their place.

Your Wedding
Tell Me What You’re Planning
You don’t need to know exactly how many hours you need yet. Tell me your date, venue and roughly how your day is planned, and I’ll help you work out which coverage makes sense.
